Branded gift boxes
Arrange the gift items, message card and any paper insert together. Plan whether the customer opens the peaked top or another agreed closure.
Folding cartons with an integrated handle
Custom printed gable boxes combine a folding paperboard body with a peaked top and integrated carrying handle. Gulupack develops the structure and print around the contents, opening method and intended gift or retail presentation.

The top handle is part of the folded structure. The packed weight, handle cutout, joining panels and way a customer grips the box all affect the design. Share the heaviest complete pack, including inserts and accessories, before finalizing the artwork.
There is no universal carrying capacity for all gable boxes. Review the intended board and handle with the actual contents. Check the bottom closure, top locking sequence and comfortable finger access as part of the sample approval.
Arrange the gift items, message card and any paper insert together. Plan whether the customer opens the peaked top or another agreed closure.
Provide a compact, branded carrying format for suitable retail products. Keep key product information visible when the handle is folded into position.
Use a fitted insert or partitions where the layout needs control. Review the total packed weight and how the items behave while the box is carried.
| Decision | Include in your brief | Review in the sample |
|---|---|---|
| Usable size | Contents dimensions and intended orientation. | Internal body space below the handle/roof area. |
| Paperboard | White print surface, kraft appearance or a material reference. | Fold quality, panel stiffness and the proposed base closure. |
| Handle & top | Carry method and desired opening sequence. | Grip access, locking tabs and the full loaded pack. |
| Branding | Printed sides, colors, designs and finish references. | Art across the roof folds, handle cutout and body panels. |
| Packing format | Flat or formed delivery preference and your assembly process. | Time and steps to form, load and close each box. |
A gable top creates changing panel angles and cutouts. Keep logos, small text and critical graphics clear of the handle opening and fold lines. Decide which body face is the front when the box is carried and which areas remain visible after closure.
A screen mock-up helps discuss the layout, but it cannot establish handle behavior or fold quality. Approve a structural sample, then use the agreed artwork dieline for final print placement. Compare printing and finishing choices if your brief includes foil, embossing or a surface treatment.
An integrated handle does not make the gable box ready for parcel transit. Plan a separate shipping outer and cushioning when the presentation pack will be delivered by courier. The peaked top and handle need space and protection in that outer pack.
For food-related uses, state whether the food is wrapped or touches the box. Direct-contact suitability, grease resistance and insulation are separate requirements to confirm; they are not implied by a kraft appearance or a gable shape.
The delivery and assembly format depends on the proposed construction. Ask the quotation to identify how the boxes arrive and which forming and closing steps remain.
Provide the maximum packed weight. Carrying performance must be reviewed with the actual board, closure and contents; no general weight rating applies to every custom design.
Describe the wrapped contents and any direct-contact requirements. Material suitability and barrier needs must be confirmed for the intended food application.
Do not use overall external height as the product-fit measurement. Identify the internal body space and the separate roof/handle area on the agreed drawing.
Send the full contents, packed weight and preferred artwork. We can discuss a gable structure and a sample to review the handle, fit and assembly.
