Can I fully customize the size and design of the folding cartons?
Share the required dimensions, structure, printed sides and finishes with your brief. We will assess the design around your product and provide a dieline for the agreed structure. Confirm all measurements and artwork before approving production.
Do you offer samples or proofs before mass production?

Buying guide for volume orders
Build a Clear Specification for 1,000+ Cardstock Boxes
Custom cardstock boxes, also called folding cartons, need to fit the product and work with your packing process. Give purchasing and design teams one agreed specification before you compare prices or approve artwork.
| Specification | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| Product & dimensions | Product type, weight and length × width × height, including the unit. State whether dimensions refer to the product, internal carton or external carton. |
| Structure & closure | Straight tuck end, reverse tuck end, auto-lock bottom, pillow or another structure. Review opening, closing, loading and assembly with the actual product. |
| Cardstock & surface | Request the paperboard grade, weight and thickness specification. Confirm the surface, print appearance and any required material documentation before approval. |
| Printing & finishes | Artwork version, printed sides, colors, coating, foil, embossing and window requirements, if any. Confirm which features are included in the quote. |
| Quantity per version | Separate each size and design. Request matched 1,000 / 3,000 / 5,000-unit quotations when comparing order quantities. |
| Packing & delivery | Flat or pre-assembled packing, where applicable; delivery country, postal code and required arrival date. Request the packed carton size, weight and shipping terms. |
Choose a Structure Around Your Packing Process
Tuck-End Cartons
Straight and reverse tuck-end designs use folding tuck closures. Compare the opening direction, flap fit and product-loading method before choosing a structure.
Auto-Lock & Pillow Boxes
An auto-lock bottom can simplify assembly; confirm the base and board around the actual product weight. Pillow boxes create a curved profile, so review usable space and fit with a sample.
Retail cartons should be assessed separately from the protective packaging needed for parcel shipping.
Compare the Same Carton at Each Quantity
Keep the size, board, structure, artwork, finishes and packing method consistent across 1,000, 3,000 and 5,000 units. Identify any separate setup, tooling, sample and shipping charges.
Use the MOQ and quotation guide to compare the total order cost as well as the unit price. Confirm whether the quoted quantity refers to one version or several different designs.
Plan Assembly & Arrival Together
Confirm how the cartons will arrive and how your team will assemble and fill them. Check the closure, insert needs and handling with your product.
Include your required arrival date in the brief. Use the packaging delivery guide to plan the production and shipping schedule around the approved specifications and delivery method.
Before Approving a Production Run
- Confirm the structure and measurements: agree the box specification and quantity for each size and design.
- Prepare artwork on the agreed dieline: check printed sides, artwork position, text and finishes with the design team.
- Review proofs and samples: confirm fit, assembly, print and surface appearance. Use the sample approval checklist and agree sample type, charges and timing before proceeding.
- Approve the production and delivery brief: record the final specification, packing method, inspection expectations and schedule.
Bulk Cardstock Box Ordering FAQs
What is the MOQ for custom cardstock boxes?
Our starting MOQ is 500 units. The final minimum depends on the structure, size, print and finish requirements. List each design and size separately so the minimum and quotation can be confirmed for every version.
Can I request pricing for 1,000, 3,000 and 5,000 units?
Yes. Request all three quantities with the same specification. Include your delivery country and postal code, and ask for box costs and any separate charges so you can compare the total project.
Can several designs share one MOQ?
Do not assume a combined total meets the minimum for each version. Provide the quantities for every size and artwork design; setup, tooling and minimums are assessed for the actual production plan.
Will the cartons ship flat, and can they be used as shipping boxes?
Many folding carton structures can be delivered flat, but the packing format should be confirmed for the chosen design. A retail cardstock carton is not automatically suitable for parcel transit. Assess protection and any outer shipping box with your product and delivery process.
When should I choose a rigid gift box instead?
Consider a rigid gift box when your brief prioritizes a sturdy presentation structure or a particular gift-set format. Compare product support, insert needs, assembly, storage and shipping volume. Explore custom rigid gift boxes.
