Interlocking dividers
Slotted pieces form compartments for multiple items. Review cell dimensions, divider height and whether the items can contact each other above the separators.
Fluted-board inserts and dividers
Custom corrugated inserts use fluted board to organize, separate or support products inside a box. Gulupack develops the layout around the item weight, contact points, outer-box fit and packing sequence. The complete packed system determines the protection required.
Structure illustration only; dimensions, materials and details are developed for the project.

Folded board can create supports around selected product areas. Plan how loads reach the outer box and where fragile or protruding parts remain clear.
A cut and folded sheet can position a product or wrap around it. Check the forming steps, flute direction and accessible product removal.
Corrugated board contains fluting between liner surfaces. The proposed construction, flute, liners and orientation should be identified for the project. “Cardboard” can also refer to solid paperboard, so a generic material name leaves room for a different result.
Use paperboard inserts for solid-board presentation structures. Use the custom box insert overview to compare the role of paper, foam and other material families without treating them as interchangeable.
| Review area | Project information | Question for the sample |
|---|---|---|
| Product | Actual size, filled weight, fragile features and permitted contact surfaces. | Where is the item supported when the box is lifted or changes orientation? |
| Outer box | Internal dimensions, closure, board and intended packing arrangement. | Does the insert stay located without distorting the outer box? |
| Divider layout | Item count, compartment dimensions and protrusions. | Can adjacent products touch or move outside their assigned cells? |
| Board & folds | Proposed material, flute direction, cuts, slots and folded sections. | Do the supports form correctly and remain in position? |
| Packing workflow | Assembly, loading, sealing and customer removal. | Can packers form it consistently without damaging the product? |
A tidy compartment layout does not prove cushioning performance. An insert may separate items while leaving a vulnerable surface unsupported. Explain whether the objective is shelf presentation, internal movement control, parcel transit or a combination.
For shipping, agree what testing applies to the full packed unit and which version of the product, insert and outer box is being tested. Do not transfer a result from one empty structure or product weight to another without review. No universal drop rating or protective capacity is implied here.
Flat pieces, pre-assembled dividers and formed inserts create different receiving and packing workflows. Ask the quote to identify the delivery format, parts per pack and any remaining assembly steps. Count those operations when comparing alternatives.
If one insert serves several product variants, supply every relevant dimension and weight. Review the smallest and largest version and the intended product orientation. A single large cutout can be convenient for packing but allow movement in a smaller SKU.
No. Corrugated board has fluting; solid paperboard does not. They can be developed for different structures and support requirements, so the material should be named clearly.
That depends on the product and complete pack. Dividers may separate items without addressing every shock, vibration or surface-contact risk. Review the full system and required tests.
State the visible faces, artwork and print expectations. The proposed board surface, production method and construction need to be confirmed for the project.
Use the actual products, outer box and agreed board. Check assembly, movement, closure and removal, then complete any separately agreed packing or transit tests.
Share the contents, outer-box dimensions and handling objective. We can discuss corrugated supports or dividers and a sample to review the full fit.
