Cover and corner space
Review the book position at the folded ends and corners. Extra space and support must suit the actual cover without leaving uncontrolled movement.
Wraparound packaging for publishers & booksellers
Custom book mailers wrap around books and publications with a structure developed for the cover size, spine thickness and packing method. Gulupack plans printed corrugated book wraps around your actual editions, order combinations and opening requirements.
Original structure illustration. Final material, fold layout and closure require a project sample.
A book wrap mailer folds around the book with panels and side wings developed around its format and thickness. The working brief includes the cover edges, spine, opening sequence and packed weight. This page focuses on that wraparound arrangement for publishers, booksellers and branded publication projects.
A flat corrugated envelope can enclose many thin products. A book-specific wrap needs a different layout discussion: where the spine sits, how the folding wings meet, which edges need space and how the finished book is removed. The final construction is developed and sampled for the actual publication.
| Book detail | What to provide | Why it changes the wrap |
|---|---|---|
| Trim size & cover | Maximum outside length and width, including any cover overhang. | Fold positions should follow the finished cover rather than an interior page size. |
| Spine thickness | Actual closed thickness of each edition, with jacket or protective sleeve. | Controls the wrap depth and the way panels overlap. |
| Packed weight | Weight of the heaviest normal order and number of books. | Helps define the support and complete shipping arrangement. |
| Added contents | Cards, signed sheets, bookmarks or other accessories. | Extra pieces can change thickness, pressure points and loading order. |
| Surface requirements | Gloss covers, dust jackets, sharp corners or areas that mark easily. | Identifies contact surfaces to review in the sample. |

If several editions share a proposed wrap, give the smallest and largest thickness. Any variable-depth folds must be checked at those limits; no universal adjustment range is assumed.
Decide which panel closes last, where the shipping label sits and how the recipient opens the pack without catching the book cover.
Corrugated envelopes and flat mailers cover flat document and product enclosures. Mailer boxes provide a defined box depth when a book set or accompanying items need more space. A book wrap project should have its own fold layout and packing review rather than simply changing the printed name on an envelope.
A booklet-style gift box describes a hinged presentation box that opens like a book. It serves a different purchase need from packaging used to ship an actual publication. If the goal is a gift presentation rather than dispatch, compare the complete retail and shipping arrangement.
Tell us whether the artwork is a publisher identity, a subscription theme or a campaign for one title. Keep the address-label area, closure overlap and opening feature clear. Separate the quantity by artwork and size, even when several titles share the same visual design.
The outer wrap and book cover should be reviewed together for rubbing and visible contact. Printing, tape, adhesive or an opening strip are project details to confirm, not standard features of every wrap. Use the agreed dieline and artwork file after the structure is settled.
Request a structural sample with the actual book, then review fit, folds, corner space, closure and opening. Agree any handling or transit tests for the complete packed unit. A structural drawing or an empty sample does not establish a universal bend, drop or moisture rating.
Share the full thickness and weight range. A proposed multi-depth design needs review with the smallest and largest packed books; the usable range is established for the actual construction.
This page covers custom paper packaging for books and publications. Book manufacture, binding and printing the publication itself are separate requirements.
No. A book wrap encloses a publication for dispatch. A booklet-style gift box is a presentation structure that opens like a book and may hold other products.
The drawing is a structural illustration, not a photograph of a completed order. Final materials, dimensions, closure and performance requirements are agreed through the project and sample review.
